We pray that all of you are doing well as we enter May already! Our family is finally back together after Justin got back to the USA last week. It was a long time apart but we all survived our seperate experiences. Sarah did the best she could keeping up with the work, kids, and the house!
Justin's time in Africa was very busy and had lots of challenges but everything was accomplished that was planned. There was extreme heat during this time in Kenya and even locals were being warned to limit their time in direct sun. After about a week despite drinking record amounts of fluid Justin came down with heat exhaustion/dehydration. It was a little bit scary but he was able to get back vertical after a few days but it affected him the duration of time in country. Thanks to all of you who prayed for Justin while he was sick and the family this past month. Your encouragement was very much felt! We are so blessed to be involved with so many great people.
Despite these challenges there were many things that were accomplished. Justin got updates/pictures of all the children, visited with staff at partner school ministries, completed water filtration training with women in the rural areas, met water filtration engineers from the US, and accompanied a video producer from the US who did on site filming for H4H. We felt blessed to be able to align all of these things to make them happen in a short amount of time!
Our family has some upcoming travel plans for May that you can pray for. This coming week we are heading to Orlando for the CAFO (Christian Alliance for Orphans) conference of whom we are members. It is always an encouraging time together with people who are involved in the same work all over the world. Also it is some of the best hands on educational training for working in this specific environment. Following this we will be in North Carolina for our annual ministry board meetings.
Thanks to everyone who continues to pray and support us in this work. We could not do any of this without every one of you standing behind us!
In Christ,
Bothwell Family (Justin, Sarah, Bailey, and Elise)
