"When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained; What is man that You take thought of him, and the son of man that You care for him?" Psalm 8:3
The past few weeks have had every single emotion possible, I think. As we've readjusted to life and worked to get the girls back on track we have faced extreme frustration and exhaustion, been full of joy and laughter, and have sat in gratefulness. These past two weeks are a landmark on our family's timeline. This time last year we had the rug pulled out from under us and felt all of our security was lost. We stood on the edge of a cliff, hearing the Lord telling us to jump, but not understanding where we were jumping. Faith. It took extreme faith. And it was hard.
Last year I attended a conference our church holds and as I sat in my seat listening to leaders speak Justin began day one at a new job, one that looked on the outside like a great place to work. In our hearts we knew we were starting a journey that was not about the job. It was temporary and we were beginning a much longer road. But this temporary part was miserable. He knew from the minute he walked in the doors it was not going to be pretty or fun.
God did amazing things in our hearts during the eight months Justin was physically in this temporary place and now we look back at where we were a year ago and stand in awe at how the Lord works.
We have been officially on staff with Hungry4HIM now for 4 1/2 months. The past two weeks have been so rewarding as we've seen people step up to begin sponsorsing children. We've talked with churches who want to be more involved as partners with the ministry. We've shared the vision with friends who then give generously because they believe in what this ministry is doing.
We are watching God work. He is graciously meeting needs, ours and others, and we have a front row seat! We could not be more thankful.
